The Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles, California.
The building was designed by architect Frank Gehry.
293,000 square feet

the exterior is made of 12,500 pieces of steel
no two are identical
cost: $274,000,000
it was completed in october of 2003
When we went to California we thought it would be awesome to go to a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. So... we checked into it:
"Hey! Let's go to a concert at the Walt Disney."
"Yeah, that would be great!"
"Let's see how much tickets are."
"OK."
"$1200 to $1500."
"Oh well, we tried."

But, we got to see the building.

Sculpture

My family visited California last month. One of the many things we did on our "field trip" was to take a self-guided walking tour of downtown Los Angeles. I think we walked about eight miles that day. But we saw many interesting buildings and several outdoor sculptures.
These are some pictures of a sculpture by Alexander Calder.

"Four Arches"
painted steel
built in 1974
63 feet tall

Alexander Calder was born in Lawton, Pennsylvania.
